Garth Nix Biography

Garth Nix is an Australian writer of young adult fantasy whose novels have sold in excess of 4 million copies internationally.

Garth Nix has received many literary awards and widespread critical acclaim. His Old Kingdom trilogy (Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen) was published in over twelve countries, with Abhorsen reaching No. 3 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Garth's equally successful Keys To The Kingdom series (Allen & Unwin, HarperCollins UK and Scholastic US) so far includes Mister Monday, Grim Tuesday, Drowned Wednesday and Sir Thursday. His most recent book, Lady Friday, was published in March 2007.

His books have appeared in the bestseller lists of the New York Times, the Sunday Times (UK), Publishers Weekly (US), The Australian, The Bookseller (UK) and Bookseller & Publisher (Australia). They have been translated into more than 24 languages.

Very Clever Baby series

These books were essentially self-published (though later republished by Text Media in Melbourne) and although aimed at "Very Clever Babies Aged 3-6 Months", some help is needed from parents with the long words such as "ichthyologist" used by the character Freddy the Fish.
